Right after your Double Chin & Jawline Cryo Sculpting session, the most important rule is simple: keep the area calm and cool for the first 48 to 72 hours. This is a 30-minute hot and cold sculpting treatment we use to help reduce the look of fullness under the chin and sharpen jawline definition, so your aftercare matters. If you’re heading back out onto Oakland Park Boulevard, running errands, or commuting off I-95, these quick do’s and don’ts will help you protect your results without overthinking it.
The first 24 to 48 hours: 4 “don’ts” that save you a lot of swelling
Your goal for the first 2 days: less heat, less friction, less inflammation. If something makes the area feel flushed or puffy, skip it for now.
1) Avoid heat, steam, and hot water on the treated area
We generally recommend you keep showers lukewarm and avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and heat packs during the first 48 to 72 hours. Heat tends to ramp up redness and swelling, which can make the area look puffier before it settles.
2) Skip intense workouts and heavy sweating
Strenuous exercise, intense cardio, and anything that has you drenched in sweat can stir up inflammation early on. Light walking is usually fine, but give your jawline a little space to chill. If you’re planning a gym session after work in Fort Lauderdale or a quick class before heading toward Las Olas, move it to tomorrow or keep it gentle.
3) Don’t rub, knead, or “test” the area
It’s normal to touch your chin and wonder if you feel a difference. Try not to. Avoid gua sha, facial rollers with pressure, strong lymphatic massage on the treated area, and any aggressive self-massage. A gentle cleanse is fine once your skin feels normal, but keep pressure light.
4) Go easy on alcohol for the first day or two
Alcohol can worsen puffiness for some people and it also makes it easier to forget and take a steamy shower or fall asleep face-down. If you do have a drink, hydrate well and keep everything else extra gentle.
Quick comfort tip: If you feel a little swollen or tender, use a cold compress for short periods (think a few minutes at a time), then give your skin a break. Don’t ice aggressively.
Days 3 to 7: sun, skin contact, and “helpful” add-ons to pause
Once you’re past the first couple of days, most people feel back to normal. But the first week is still a time to be smart, especially here in South Florida where sun and beach plans are basically year-round.
5) Avoid tanning, long sun exposure, and skipped SPF
Direct sun and heat can keep the area looking red or irritated. If you’re spending time outdoors in Oakland Park, heading to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, or hanging near the beach communities, keep the treated area protected. We recommend daily SPF when you’ll be outside, and no tanning beds while your skin is settling.
6) Hold off on facial massages and strong facial treatments for 2 to 4 weeks
A lot of people love stacking services. We get it. For this area, we generally recommend skipping aggressive facial massage over the chin and jawline for 2 to 4 weeks. That includes deep massage work, strong devices that pull or heat the skin, and anything that leaves you sore afterward.
7) Don’t pick, scrub, or over-exfoliate if your skin feels sensitive
If your skin feels a bit dry or reactive, keep things simple. No harsh scrubs. No picking at texture. Let it calm down first, then you can return to your usual routine.
A simple at-home routine after cryo sculpting (no fancy products needed)
After cryo sculpting, the best routine is usually the one that doesn’t irritate you. Stick with gentle basics for a few days, especially if you’re already prone to sensitivity around the chin or neck.
Gentle cleanse and light moisture
Use a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Pat dry. Add a simple, fragrance-light moisturizer if your skin feels dry.
SPF when you’re outside
South Florida sun is no joke. If you’re outdoors at all, apply SPF to the treated area and reapply as needed. This is one of the easiest ways to protect how your skin looks while it settles.
Sleep setup if you swell easily
If you notice puffiness, try sleeping slightly propped up the first night. It’s a small thing that often helps.

What’s normal after jawline cryo sculpting, and when to reach out to us
Right after treatment, it’s common to have temporary redness, mild swelling, tenderness, or numbness in the treated area. Those sensations usually improve as the days pass. What we don’t want you doing is pushing through something that feels off just because you’re busy.
Reach out to our team if you notice:
- Severe or worsening pain that doesn’t settle
- Spreading redness, unusual warmth, or signs of infection
- Fever
- Numbness that doesn’t improve after two weeks
